Where do you think I need more paint :?:
I would paint the metal pieces that hold the light in black again as they are starting to rust.
True but that's probably the most rust on the whole car. The backs of the lenses are very rusty too. Will look into that when the weather improves and gets warmer. Too cold to paint anything right now.

The gear shift mount plate never had paint on it. If I were to paint it it would be clear coat only. Some things just have to remain factory. OCD much :?:

A few more shots of the lights after I installed the new bulbs. The light is far brighter and whiter too which is great.

That looks really good, have you had a chance to test on the road yet?

Yes I have. They seem brighter and have more light on the road. This was only driving around on roads with street lights, I'll have to venture further out of town to find roads with no street lights to see if they make a difference. I believe it will as the bulbs that were in it before were quite dull and it made it hard to see.

Are there any legal issues with upgrading bulbs?

They'd be perfect for a night run...

Only if the bulb wattage and type changes. These are still the same as the factory bulb but better technology allows them to be brighter, they won't last as long.

Nice work and pics, car is looking great.

Was there any noticeable difference after installing the TRD braces? Not that it really matters anyway, they look so nice.

I'm not really sure as I haven't driven it fast enough to notice the difference. Plus I have also changed the springs so that changed the car a lot at the same time. I did notice when I took the braces off to take photos that car did flex more when going over the kerb crossing. That's no braces vs the TRD braces. You could hear the doors flexing and the windows rubbing on the surrounding rubber seals more than usual.

They do look nice which is half the reason I bought them but need a complete repaint as there is quite a bit of paint damage. The other reason I bought them is to have more TRD performance parts if that's what you can call them. I now have TRD springs, TRD strut braces and a TRD gearknob. I also have TRD merchandise from my Japan trip but that's mostly because you can't buy much new TRD parts specific to the SW20 anymore. You can get a radiator cap and thermostat but again, not 100% specific.

Ah okay, interesting observation about the chassis flex. Yeah TRD parts are always nice, OEM fitment and quality but increased performance.
I wish I could find a TRD exhaust manifold and B pipe for my AW but they discontinued those parts a long time ago I think.

Well I do have a T-Top which is a bit more flexible than a hard top. But then the TRD rear bar has the extra bar directly connecting the strut tops together.

Yeah if you look at the TRD catalog 99% of the stuff they have made is discontinued now. Unless you own a ZN6 GT86 you are pretty much out of luck for new parts. However if you own an Altezza you can still buy ALL the suspension parts. Some LSDs are still available to buy new.

Your car isn't 26 years old  Or 17 if you have a 99 SW20.

Back roads + TRD springs with Bilstein OEMS =   :D :D :D :D
Such a smooth ride once you get up to speed. The car hugs the road so well.

I took some more photos of the car last night while the moon was out at it's brightest.
Silly me forgot the tripod so there are lots of low angle shots

Focused on the road just in front of the camera but I kind of like it.

Low beam lights. I'm impressed with the spread of light on the road. High beam is great too, it covers most of the road in front of the car where the old bulbs would miss it. Far easier to see now. The brightness levels for cars coming the other way is no different to most modern lights that can be blinding sometimes. Especially when you are in an MR2 vs an SUV with the lights up higher.
