mrs springs

Post by AlanT »

I've been racing 2k cup in a levin, I have had 3 mr-s cars in different stages at my workshop. I have now built one for 2k cup. The first test day on Saturday at Hampton downs showed me that the front suspension is way too soft and bottoms out on the sharp left hander. I am trying to locate more heavy duty springs. The ones I have on are Cobra lowered ones.

Cobra a pretty soft, not exactly a performance spring.

By 12 wire do you mean the amount of coils or the thickness/diameter of the wire? I have never seen a spring manufacture give this information so it's going to be hard to find something so specific.

I run 4k/6k spring rate with adjustable shocks and this is fine as a street/track combo.
For pure track use you could go stiffer.
But pairing up stiffer springs with regular shocks is not going to work well, unless you have upgraded the shocks?
Why not go adjustable coil-overs?

Spyderchat would be your best bet for finding out about aftermarket spring rates data.

2k cup doesn't allow coilovers. Lowering springs only on OEM shocks.
