Bad spray patterns can cause issues too even if it is putting out the right amount of fuel. Atomised fuel burns better than a stream.

Very true, considering just ordering these, will get my spare set of injectors cleaned (once I find them), and then these two kits should hopefully rule out a few things in one go. Unless anyone has any recommendations for other sources (this being Rock Auto).

Re: SW20 Garagefind(ish) fix up.
So after trying lots of things, including those new leads, and new plugs, it was still running badly.
Eventually got it running well this past weekend by cleaning the injectors. So it finally runs on all four!

Awaiting the fuel pump hanger still, so I've turned my focus to the brakes.
The rears have been seized on, and I decided to remove them this evening and try to thread the pistons off.
They definitely fought me, but after a while I got them off, and there appears to be a white solid residue under the pistons and at the bottom of the bores.
Any suggestions on trying to remove this?
It's a plastic like consistency, and seems quite stuck there!
It almost looks like a liquid here, but it's very solid:

That's running well now. Good to get those injector cleaned.
That might be old grease in the brakes. It's not a part that has broken up.

Re: SW20 Garagefind(ish) fix up.
Not much to update just yet, cleaned out the rear brake calipers, and have ordered a seal kit for all four, haven't removed the fronts yet though.
Have swapped over the main engine harness to a spare that was in better condition, mostly as it has the plug for my spare alternator, this loom has had the older-style plug chopped off and a newer style installed, but the current alternator isn't charging correctly.
Replaced a coolant temp sensor (cheers GDII for sourcing that!) that I broke while removing the loom.
Should have the new fuel pump hanger soon hopefully so the fuel tank will be able to go in finally.
Had the heater core pipes pressure tested at a local radiator shop (and the end fixed up). they turned out all good, so they'll go back in shortly as well.
Just lots of small jobs while I await the ability to reinstall the fuel tank, but if all goes well I may be able to drive the car (at least up the driveway) by the end of the year, I hope!
