AW's AWesome but I'm likely going to sell it shortly. Need to simplify life a bit.

SW is SWeet, been real reliable since I rebuilt the fuel system but its clutch died heading up to Russell just before Christmas and I haven't fixed it yet so it's just sitting in the shed. Need to get the AW outta there so I can pull the red thing apart. But frankly I'm having a VERY hard time crossing that line and parting with it. Especially as I have a TON of spares for the AW and none at all for the SW.

And the AW was always intended to become a project, hence I have spare motors etc to rebuild. But I'd also like to keep the SW so Isaac can have it some day. Hard to find a car as quick as that thing and he's a good enough driver for it.

Haven't been on a run in ages, mainly cos there don't seem to be any. But I'm not driving the AW anywhere at the mo as it's under-insured by about 3x (judging by the not-even-original AW selling recently for about $23,500 on Trademe) and I'd not want it having an accident.

Don't sell it Charlie, you'll regret it from both a sentimental and financial viewpoint. Everyone I know that is 100 years older than me and had something cool and appreciating in value when they were young then sold it regrets it big time.

I think we have all parted with "gems" in our lives that we now regret and im with Charlie on classics Values . My Aw is under insured at 16k and likewise the Porsche at$ 23000.

Fixing the SW clutch is next on the agenda now that there's space in the shed and a little money in the kitty. I believe I fried it by slipping it trying to determine how to get the best start at the drags in Fielding. Turned out the best idea was drop the clutch and light up the tyres.

After the clutch is fixed we'll have to see whether I keep the crazy thing (and sell the 86) or let it go. Again, working on cars is pretty-much impossible for me now and I can't afford to pay some other clown to do it for me. Frankly I don't much trust the workmanship of mechanics anyway, they're typically in too much of a rush or too distracted by phone calls or whoever walks into the workshop. I've had too many nasty surprises in the past which is why I've always preferred to do things myself. And the Red Thing is not the kind of vehicle for a loose nut. Behind the wheel or anywhere...!

How much did it sell for in the end as it was still up for sale for a lower price after it was Siad here it was sold for a higher price.

If they get what they are asking for it I'll be stoked. The AW are well worth that. Other Jap classics are going for far more and the AW is truly an exceptional vehicle with a rare mid engine format, incredible cornering ability, solid reliability and those increasingly admired retro lines.

And this is the best and the last of them, being an '89 SC.
