Yeah, what I was implying in my reply is too try hook up to speed signal from the dash (I have a mechanical Speedo) and see if that changes how the engine behaves since apparently other Toyota ECUs use this for those things

Yeah. In the swap I'm working on I've connected the SPD pin to the signal from the dash. Just how the MR2 is setup. It's an electronic speedo but still has the signal coming from the dash rather than direct from the gearbox.

Yeah I think it provides more pulses by about 30% IIRC, but I doubt it makes a difference

That attaching of speed signal got rid of the CEL that happened when driving at 2,000+ rpm for 10+ seconds

I replaced the thermostat with a genuine one.

Put a clip in the drivers door pocket to prevent it popping out.

Greased the drivers door hinge to quieten it down.

Took the slack out of the handbrake.

Doing it the right way!

Good to see you back in action and fixing up the dodgy wiring.

Thanks.

Flushed the old cooland and changed it. It's bright yellow coloured, but didn't have any organic acids, just ethylene glycol.
