Mostly back together now. Hopefully take her for a spin in the weekend make sure we are not over boosting. And set up the low and high boost settings.
Then, attempt at getting her road legal again! :D :D

Wow! That's like, twice the area. That's a tiny little hole for gas to escape.

Yup, I guess its enough for a 2ltr 4 cylinder. But not really for a 3ltr V6. Should hold 8psi on gate now without creeping! :D :D

And if you double the diameter of a pipe/hole you almost quadruple the flow so you should be all good now.

Yup, she doesn't hit boost cut now. Not sure what the boost is, as my gauge is waiting for a new sensor. I assume around 8-10? And my boost controller is blowing fuses so I need to figure that out so I can have high boost. But its great finally being able to rev it out!! I can tell when we hit high torque because the wheels spin 1st and 2nd in the dry at high RPM. Then it hits limiter and backfires!
Man its scary but awesome!!
Bring on high boost!!

So looks like I won't be taking this one out for the club run Sunday
Also think I need a new battery. And my clutch adjusted, it must have settled in nicely now. Plus definitely some new and fatter rubber!!

Next club run, for sure :D :D

Poof!! Yay for WoF!
Fatter rubber? 205?!! Yeah I think so! But how wide can you go on a AW11 without messing with the body?

205 now. Guards are already rolled. And with the adjustable suspension I think I can get 245 rear and maybe 225 front.

I ran 245/35R16 for a while, with rolled guards they rubbed a little I think there was a bit of clearance between the tyre and strut, so might've just squeezed in with a larger wheel offset. They weren't very good tyres though (Pirelli P7000 I think), I replaced them with 225 T1Rs and found they had much better grip.

Thanks Malcolm,
I actually since did some research since and my limiting factor is the rims. Apparently 245 will be a bit big and probably alter the tyre profile. Creating less road contact (probably the same thing you mentioned?) 235 I can't get in the tyres I want and 225 is perfect. So I guess it will be 225 rear and I'll stick with 205 front now.

So I wonder if I've found the weak link of my build....

20200621_120818.jpg
20200621_120924.jpg
A few heat spots I feel aren't right. And I've never seen before.
Plus I've had a CV boot spit grease every time I've been on the dyno. And now this one that split. Perhaps from heat? Not sure.
But I guess I'll just rebuild it see *crosses fingers and toes....

Is that cracked cage? I suspect the heat colour is actually from the induction heat treatment to harden the splines and not due to anything in your setup.

Like so.

I didn't see a cracked cage. But will check again.
The heat marks are only on one side of both CVs. The one that went and lost all the grease. The other had plenty of grease. I've never seen heat marks like that before?
I'm sure people have higher hp builds on standard axles. Just thought it was weird. Perhaps coincidence?
Anyway, chucking a new boot on, rebuilding and seeing how it goes from there.

Maybe it was just a line in the grease that looks like a crack. Ignore me!

You might also just need some higher temp grease to sort it out. The standard Toyota grease wouldn't have been formulated for the loads you're pushing through the CV's
