Simons secret not so secret #216 MR2 AW11

Post by simonaszakra »

So its been a while since i made a 'rides' post but given my role i really should.

A few years back i managed to acquire this 1984 model AW11 with only 100,000km on the clock and not so firmly planted on retreads from circa 1995 with sidewalls from the mid 80s....

Owned by one fella for its entire time in nz always garaged this ol girl is a bit of survivor with only very small patches of surface rust.

Sadly its a auto but i find this quite relaxing compared to my other mr2s. It makes for a ideal town car or out of town cruiser due to the lower rpm at 100kmh.

Just after purchasing i had a funny feeling it was a very low numbers car. And to my shock it happend to be the #216th aw11 ever made coming off the production line in the first week of production!

My plans for the car are love it. Enjoy it in its factory form and perform any minor work needed being done.

Headed for a fresh wof in the coming few days.

If anyone has a factory radio and or a near mint set of red seats please let me know.
