Hey everyone I am in need of a absolute legend to help me get my engine out and back in one weekend from some time now onwards so I can repair a thread in the head and get the motor back in in one day or two.... I am located in Johnsonville, Wellington and will have a engine hoist and a trolley jack sort of contraption I am borrowing off a mate to make the job as easy as I can
I will shout food and some beers(if u don’t drink just say what you want for your time and it’s a deal)
Pulling the engine might take longer than pulling just the head which would let you get it repaired still. If you still want to pull the engine then you might as well get common service items done while it's out

Engine has full external refresh, it's only been in less than 1 year.

Yea I heard it’ll be a mission if I pull the head off won’t I need to machine the head and block? The engine has had most seals and gaskets replaced before I put the motor in les then 1 year ago and it’s only done 1,500ks since then.... just need this exhaust manifold stud thread in the head rethreaded to stop the exhaust leak and to get a cert for engine swap

If everything's fine then you shouldn't need to. The block is iron so the chance of needing to be machined for this purpose is low. The head surface should be checked, possibly machined but I doubt it unless it's suffered from overheating.
It's also a bit easier to repair the head if it's by itself since it's easier to handle and clamp down on

If you just need it retreaded then is it possible to just run a tap down and put a new stud / bolt in ?
I can have a look at it this weekend Sunday maby ?

Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

Hey everything seems fine I do have a odd slow coolant usage issue that I am not sure if it uses coolant or is leaking somewhere so not sure if I should pull the head off.... I do have a brand new head gasket but I’ll also need new bolts won’t I?

Hey yea it’s the exhaust manifold thread next to the water pump where the manifold usually get an exhaust leak.... looks very hard to get to and I’ve previously tried to heli coil that thread as it was stripped and it held fine until I took off the turbo and put it back on its just loose so not sure and yea that would be perfect if you could check it out this weekend here’s my phone number you can text me so we can sort that out
If its got a heil coil in all ready you will have to remove it and fit another one .
so yes the exhaust will have to come off so engine out time but no need to remove the head as a new heil coil can be fitted with head on.

Yea hopefully the heli coil will hold again haha I maybe have not done a good job at installing it the first time
