AGM 2023 Discussion doc

Web site , forum, AGM meeting format, please have a read a comment ASAP Discussion doc MR2 AGM 2023

Club website and forum.

It seems every year we all agree we need to update the club web site and make it more user friendly, I would like us to have a plan to take to the AGM to achieve this.

I am not a website person but it needs to be more user friendly modern and inviting. Easy to use when accessed by smart phone, have links to our 3 models of car (already done) and would be handy to include a workshop manual for each model that is easy to access or a link to it.
We need to have links to all approved face book MR2 groups (including Auckland MR2) and any other MR2 groups on other formats if possible. This way we can all work in together and grow the MR2 community and new members can access information for their area. For example if possible Lower North Island MR2 group needs to be open to all MR2 members to access so they know what is happening. Simon needs to know what’s going on in our areas so he can post this information.

Our forum is old, old pics and postings from years ago, some stuff needs archiving, some can go.
We need good posts with good information to remain but they must be easy to find. We need contact details for the clubs executive and AC’s (email, phone or both) so we are approachable and can help point members in the right direction.

Events need to be in order of date when they are happening and not further down the page.

We still need a list of life members to recognize those that have been involved with the club for a long time.

Do we need a forum ??? can this info be linked on our webpage ?

We also need a group on line chat in February ASAP well before the meeting so we know the system we are using will work on the day and not be a shambles like it is some years. It has been suggested by Julz that Goggle Meets is a good format that works well and they used it at her school for on line learning talking to up to 40 children ...

Simon your thoughts please as you are the communications man.

As there appears to be little interest in driving to Taupo for a 1-2 hour on line meeting then driving home again, or staying the night and driving home, it may end up being Auckland, Lower North, Christchurch and maybe Hastings and New Plymouth plus Julz at her school on line AGM.

We need an executive and AC chat to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Cheers
