FORUM OUTAGE 6th & 14th NOVEMBER

OK, made a ginormous breakthrough this morning...

So next Saturday, the 6th November, I'm intending on migrating the forum back off that piggy slow and hard to munt with American hosting outfit... and bringing it up on my one of my own machines back here in Kiwiland.

Once I get past that wee hurdle I'll be able to go mad installing various mods and suchlike - and everyone's forum experience will be improved steadily as time goes on.

So - BE WARNED. :shock:

Chances are the forum will vanish from view for up to maybe 4 hours next Saturday morning.

At least, with all going well it oughtta be back online within about that time-frame. All going well... (wish me luck folks!)

I'm going to get into it as early as possible so hopefully it's all sorted by the time you party animals crawl outta the sack...

Haven't found the forum to be slow, but anything to minimise hops is always good.

I'll let the forum get happening again for the moment but you can expect I'll lock it again a little later after I get this one nutted out...

OK, managed to work through a few issues... but it turns out the domain registrar has a SERIOUSLY stuffed in the head manner of issuing UDAI's (necessary for transferring a domain) so I'm stuffed until some time later. Maybe I can get this done one night this week...

Grrrr.... :evil: Muppets!

Determined to get the job done though so I can get cracking on rolling out some serious improvements. :mrgreen:

Yep, had to go back to start on home page and re-log in to get forum up. All seems good now. Wonder if there is a way Charlie can send a message to all users via email to let them know about migration and how to get back onto forum?

Aw crud I forgot about that old ghost. I'll see if I can set up some kinda redirect... Mind you, sometimes it's better to simply leave the past behind and move on. :wink:
