Except he is wrong on the stock boost levels the cars ran. Says the gen2 run 8psi stock. Where they actually should run 11 stock if everything is working correctly.

US cars could have run 8psi. They were 200hp after all. Not 225hp like the JDM ones.

Nah they still had T/VSV, their ecu is what lowered their output, they ran mega rich and could handle 15psi all day long, so long as the car was filled with their premium (93 or 94 R+M/2) and everything was up to spec.

Yeah sure they had very similar setups to the JDM car with the addition of the EGR system but in stock form like you say the ECU held back boost. Yes you could make them run more boost and power but we are talking stock comparisons.

Yes they still had an operational t/vsv though, which under ideal conditions gave ~11.8psi boost according to the US BGB.

The timing on the US ECU is super conservative in case someone fills it with 87 or beats on it every day in the Texas heat.

What to consider looking at if i am boosting around 9 - 9.5 psi under full load?

Yeah. Not a very good result. As you can see I lost the change to second as the acutal shifter cables had jumped out of the mounting bracket. Easy fix but that EVO got away. That was when I was running a 3SGTE at about 21 PSI Boost.
