Video game MR2s!

Post by ClanFever »

This is a fun thread for us video game nerds... show us either your custom one on Gran Turismo/Forza or some awesome ones you found on the internets... I found one in Garry's Mod, very good base to have some fun in!

Not quite a video game, but equally nerdy, CAD model. Mocking up exhaust at the moment on it.

Haha quite cool! Did you make the model or is it downloadable somewhere?

That CAD model is cool!

I'd also like that model, when it's complete. I'd be particularly keen on your model including the front bumper irons and radiator.

What I'm thinking of is modelling what the front of an SW20 looks like to a microwave. Given a good model that represents plastic different from metal (to a microwave, metal looks like metal to us, and plastic looks like glass), that should be doable with something like Persistence of Vision, I think... .

I downloaded it from somewhere originally, but I don't think the link is available anymore. I tidied it up a bit, changed colour etc. It is fairly accurate dimension wise but I have noticed some inconsistencies(ie rear guards need tidying up, front bumper looks a little sharper than stock. As accurate as you will get from a surface model that's been traced from sketches. I'll upload it in a neutral 3d file format at some stage and post the link.

Looking good seagull. Can you not put white decals over the side trim and roof? Not having played Forza for years I wouldn't know.

Looks a lot like Coast Road bottom of Wainuiomata .
Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

You would be quite right. It is that exact road.
