Speedo will be higher than 180km/h. Also won't have a speed limiter at ~180km/h.
Front indicators may be different. Won't be a high spec as a G Limited.

Rear bumper has large enough space for NZ license plate.

Re: NZ New mr2 1996.
From my experience it's mostly what the other guys have said.
Front indicators have a clear centre section.
Stereo will be basic without any subs or amps. Head unit straight to the speakers.
Rear corner markers could be red with a light in them instead of orange with no light.
Mechanically they are the same as the JDM G model like Al said they are low spec unlike the G-Limited which is high spec.
May or may not have power steering and power windows but being that new it may have had power parts as standard similar to new cars these days having ABS and air bags as standard and you can't get it without them.
I didn't know they sold them as new as 1996 here. Probably called a 2.0 GTi16 like the UK models.
The above is based off the 1990 NZDM cars I have seen and worked on.

$75,000 new in 1996. That was a cheap house in a small town.

Wow, were they honestly that much brand new? That blows my mind given its a basic spec model.

Re: NZ New mr2 1996.
Based on some information I found the 1990 was $65k new. I don't know if that was a NZDM model or the JDM G-Limited though. In Japan in 1995 a G-Limited was about $30k NZD but that would be if you bought it in Japan rather than here. I've got pricing sheets in YEN from 1995 then I converted it to NZD using the exchange rate in 1995. However that might not be accurate.thorns wrote:Alsw20 wrote:$75,000 new in 1996.
