Obviously this lock down has thrown a massive spanner into the works for anything we call normal. I am working from home and it's sort of more mentally draining than it normally is. I'm still here and around, but I'm gonna be semi M.I.A until the lockdowns off, not posting perhaps as much as I should...

However, tomorrow and perhaps Sunday if required, a big overhaul of the garage is coming, as well as some APEXED jobs that should have been done a long time ago...

No work on the MR2 as it's 'finished' so some minor mods to the Corolla.

The radiator cap mounting point was oval so it was leaking. So I bought a used radiator from PAP and was going to use it until I saw the scum inside it. So I swapped over the top tanks onto my aftermarket radiator and that fixed the problem.

Then decided to polish up the paint to make it a little nicer. Very hard to be great when half the clear coat is peeling off. But I did get rid of the sunscreen hand prints from the previous owners small children.

Final result for a quick job. I also managed to invent antigravity at the same time... Click or tap on the image to set it the right way.

Thought I'd get the car running again this long weekend.
But just realised I need specific leads for these new coil packs.

More out of order mess. I apologise, phone will no longer connect to my pc and I'm very lazy this isolation... Giving mevsu a decent vaccum plus giving it the good drivers seat (well better rails and adjuster levers, uses a cover as it is more worn). Old seats going to a friends arcade setup

Found a weird controller. Also a lucky 20c coin. And old rego labels

What does it mean?

My day consisted of cleaning the Corolla interior. Mostly trying to get dog hair out of the carpet and scum off the windows. I also fitted the second bracket to the stereo to stop it flopping around and actually plug in the aerial so I can have radio if needed. Also cleaned the boot area under the carpet. 23 years of dirt, yummy...

Need to get me a TRD horn button.

Hi mate, the steering wheel definitely looks better with the pad and the button on it.

You have the "Sprint" sticker on the side )pretty big bold statement), Momo steering wheel or maybe even a TRD button, your next step has be to get a bit more get up and go. This way, everything will match, you will have the speed to match the statements :D :D :D

Looking good though mate.

Have a safe one, regards

I do like the MOMO pad. A TRD button would cost far too much anyway.
Hmmmm. I know where a 2ZZ-GE and 6 speed is and so do you. That would be a really fun car with some TRD springs, suitable dampers and upgraded brakes. But in saying that it's quite a zippy car already with the close ratio box. The 4AFE is good on fuel for an old car and it's super light. Better tyres would be nice as it's super sketch in the rain. Oh, and an LSD.

I can see the list growing mate, a nice set of headers for the 2ZZ as well and open the rest of the breathing,, you will definitely need a good of tires :D :D :D

Something little - my lovely partner helped me take apart the dashboard and some other bits to re-wire the factory speakers. They've never worked since I bought the car and it turns out all the wiring was messed with in the past. But now it's all working beautifully :) the front speakers are even aftermarket of some kind and sound pretty nice. Can't wait to drive with some music!

Did some more on APEXED, will update over in the build thread, but it's getting close. Sort of need to wait for stuff to ship to the right locations... Repco decided to ship to my billing address and not the shipping address, things like that slow down progress...
