Garage for MR2 service Hawkes Bay

Post by davegwyn »

Hey guys.
I’m looking for a garage in Hawkes Bay that anyone could please recommend to service my 1994 MR2 GT turbo. Like many of you I love my MR2 like a child so would prefer a mechanic with some experience of working on MR2s or interest in them.
Cheers, Dave.

Hi dave. I know what you mean. I had trouble finding a good mechanic when mine was going.

Got burned a few times too.

My suggestion is ask around, if they havent worked on an mr2 before, probably give them a miss.

These cars are a little more special then the normal car.

Or do it yourself, like me.

Oil and filters, changing plugs and other ignition components, coolant changes etc. Just do yourself. Not worth the hassle.

Hi Crawls,

Thanks for the advice. Embarrassing thing is I love cars and driving but know pretty much nothing about doing any maintenance work on them so really need a garage who know their way around an MR2! Don’t really want to start learning and making any mistakes on mine as it is a bit special (completely original imported 94 GT Turbo with 49000kms on the clock).

Cheers, Dave

Hey Dave, if you need some help with maintenance just gimme a yell.

I am good with the basics, (IE, oil change etc) plus if it is more then that, then there is a long list of fellow enthusiasts that would lend a voice.
