Will a 6.5inch speaker screw straight into my doors? I imagine the door holes are all the same size. If its any help, my mr2 has the up graded sound system + electric aerial.

im going to buy infinity references. Only if they fit.

can anyone confirm the hole size in the door

Yup, I have some 6.5" Pioneer 3 ways in my doors, works a treat. Wired up the factory tweeters too, sounds good and is at least $100 cheaper than buying a set of components

Did you need to change anything to fit them in? drill holes?
Is the standard speaker a 4" with some weirdo mounting bracket?

IIRC, I did have to drill a hole, but nothing major.

Yeah when I bought my car it had some 4" lanzar speakers in the doors, they have a odd little spacer to hold them.

aha.

Just taken the lid off the subwoofer compartment, would it be a good idea to gut the facto sub out of there just so you could make the sub box about 5inches more taller and sit the box in there going up to the same height as kiwimr2's 10inch box

what you rekon? And who wants to build me a box. and who wants the measurments of kiwis box!?!?!?! :D
