They may not have directional vent, like the NA SW20 lid but the air flow sure does have a direction still.

Interesting. I guess that's because there is a low pressure area in the dip of the engine lid. Which in theory should help pull air out anyway? I don't really mind which way round it goes. I just assumed airflow would be up and back. I might hold off and do a little test with tell tails like you say.

You don't have to worry about flow direction and it's easier to create a hole for the idea I gave

The SC vents are all cut out and increased in size already. And as they are raised in a SC lid I don't imagine a NA lid will be much better. This also may create a clearnce issue as the raised SC lid is already very close to the 3VZ. But thanks. Would rather keep the SC lid.

Slowly, slowly getting there...

Serviced the drive shafts and installed. Also rear suspension components. Wrapped the mufflers and mounted so we can fab the down pipe. The wrap is mainly to hide the crustyness.

Also Intercooler pipes all in with BOV. And finally secured the W2A IC! Coolant system and oil system finished.

Pretty much just need that downpipe in and then I can wire up. Making sure to avoid and/heat wrap and/or extend to stop any contact with hot areas.
... Although I am considering just doing a full rewire including wire tuck down low to clean it all up... hmm.

This was actually quite difficult getting the turbo intake through the gas filler hole into the inner guard. No cutting or bending factory metal. The factory rubber seal even works!
And the metal inner guard plate (when I find it) with some custom rubber seals will prevent intake of debris off the wheel.
Perhaps when its got a cert etc and all legit I'll open up the panel a bit more and add a scoop or something?

And this is how I fixed the stripped sway bar mount on one side and bent chassis under the sway bar bracket (someone used the sway bar bracket to jack up the car it seems)...

I'll mock up again for wiring etc so as to avoid the hot bits. Then get these ceramic coated and wrapped.

I see in Oz they dyno'd a turbo Camry with stock bottom end at over 500BHP. Doubt I'll get there. But would be great to see over 400! :D :P

Whats been happening on the V6 Turbo AW11?
Well, not a lot... Any spare time has been chasing rats. Getting the SW going, so at least I have one toy!
And then this new project... to brush up on my TIG skills.

New welding table made from scrap steel. I feel like I'm getting the hang of it.... :D

So I can start running cables, hoses etc away from it. Making sure I have enough heat sleeves. And then start striping the wiring harness to rerun, tuck and just generally avoid anything hot! :D
