Already got it, but thanks mate. My SC14 is a bit different to the one here. But basically the same swapswap. Just a few extra mods I need to make.
Cams set up right as far as I can tell. The dots line up with the marks on the cam cover (but obviously not fitted) And I have cranked it over dozens of times. They still land in the same spot. No nasty sounds, like pistons hitting valves! So pretty confident :wink:

Alright, to me it looks like the intake is one tooth advanced and the exhaust looks like one tooth retarded. This is great for turbo engines as it helps spool the turbo up, but is terrible for supercharged engines because you lose more boost down the exhaust.

Maybe some AW11 experts can clarify this for me, because I know on the SW20 that the cam arm with the dot on it is parallel with the other cam arm. So at TDC both cam arms are vertical and parallel.

Fair enough. Each engines different. I don't know 3SGE/TEs. And I'm no expert of course! So I appreciate the help.

Oh, so the timing marks are offset on those engines. They probably changed it on later engines to make it easier to line up, because on 3sge\gte's the knock pin, cam arm, the dot mark and the back cover marks all line up on a plumb line. Continue as normal, ignore me :P .

I agree, it is weird. Why not have them both straight up? Be easier aye!
But I checked and double checked. My mates even said as long as you turn it over a bunch of times and it doesn't knock, and always lines back up the right way. Then all good!
Plus I marked the tops of the cams at TDC before taking it apart. So looks all good I think.

Yeah, rotating it a few times tensions up the belt and that simulates running conditions, if they still line up then it's correct.
