4age Auto gear ratio- SnowCat Build

This is a tad out of my league so I am asking for help. A friend is looking at building a SnowCat and wants some info on auto trans gear ratios. This will be used to drive a hydraulic pump to supply power to tracks.

Can one of the 4age experts point me toward a link on required info. Does not have to be AW specific as can use components from other cars. Even if there is a better engine/trans platform offer some suggestions. This is at a design stage with no definitive time or budget.

Not really sure what you mean by auto trans gear ratios Jim but do these specs from the BGB help?

I've previously worked a few months at an automatic transmission rebuild shop. There is quite a lot involved in getting everything to work properly. The biggest problem here is finding an ECU to match.

What does the ECU control with the auto trans that makes it difficult to use for an application like this?

On factory applications, there is either a seperate trans ECU or a all in one. This controls under what conditions different things happen in the valve body. The oil pressures are what ultimately decides what band gets engaged and subsequently which gear. As with anything, it's doable but just a matter of skillset, money, and time

Ok, I’ll pass all this info over to my friend. He has his own Engineering business and has built many cars although specialises in diesels. He is at the research stage just now so looking at best engine drivetrain platform before design starts.
