Wiring tucked and heat sheilded as much as possible.
Still a bunch of little things to finish up. But thought why not see if we can fire the turbo V6 up?!
Primed the fuel system a bunch of times. No leaks (at this stage) Fresh oil in the engine and gave it a few cranks without firing to get some oil flowing.... Funny how you think everything is done right, tight and nothing "should" go wrong.... Neck Minit....

Fuel leak from the gauge sensor (broken internally it seems?) Need a new one of those! And an Oil leak from the filter relocation. At least I know it builds good oil pressure aye!!
Try again next week :D

Poor girl, it won't be long now...

I'm waiting on my ECU to come back with a new harness tails. And waiting on the finishing welding on the exhaust. That's literally it now. I've run out of stuff to do!

Funk is all nice and tidy and put back together.
As with the underbody, all panels, wiring, interior.
Just waiting on other people.... :(

Wanted one of these earlier but didnt want to pay the price, New, shipped from the USA.
So had to snap it up when I saw a used one for sale here!
20191206_201134.jpg
Unfortunately the car is nearly going, and I'm not going to pull the box again now!
But it can sit on a shelf for awhile, maybe when I find an LSD I'll do both! :D

So on another note, had some issues starting the car. Fuel pump, injectors and spark would drop while cranking.
BTW, bad idea test starting the car with the downpipe off, turbo pointing at the FPR, with larger injectors on the old tune.....
20191122_193438.jpg
Small fire scared the crap out of me and put an end to that!

Anyway, gave up on the wiring to the ECU. It was so bad! Some places there was a soldered join 100mm away from a crimp join...why???! Also some circuits not fused!!
I put the starting issue down to this and sent Jared my ECU to upgrade and also make a new loom to suit the changes.

20191205_143542.jpg
So I'll try get around to rewiring the entire ECU soon hopefully. My exhaust bracket and O2 bung should be welded this weekend.
Dropped to the powdercoaters next week. Doubt I'll get in for a tune before Christmas. But so close! :D

There will be, I'm sure. Always happens when you tear this much stuff apart. But hopefully I catch anything before dyno day!

Wrapped the rest of the exhaust today.
20191214_133723.jpg
Letting this dry so I can hit it with some VHT to help seal the fiberglass and retain the colour (I hope) Then install the full exhaust. Tidy the wiring. And fill the radiator and gearbox fluids. Run at idle and check again for leaks.
Dyno time soon!!!

And here's a vid of the start up.... :D

It will be good mate, it is evident from the effort that you have put into this, especially the details around the whole car and not just chucking the engine in

Right, so bolted on the rest of the parts.
20191218_142340.jpg
Topped up fluids including this good stuff...
20191218_130139.jpg
And drove the ADub out the shed under its own power for the first time in over a year!
20191218_142328.jpg
Let it idle up to temp and gave the old girl a wash.
20191218_153537.jpg
Back to the shed and will check fluid levels and leaks again when cool.

So now I just need to get my mufflers welded on. Get a WOF and rego for my car trailer and book in the dyno tune!!

Coming to a club run near you in early 2020!!! :D :D
