All comments welcome on this topic, good or bad; mainly because I don't want to screw up a fresh bluetop!:
The replacement radiator I purchased just came with a black, threaded bung for the air bleed, as you'll see in the photos. I'm certain I have seen a replacement in the U.S for the bleed valve but the shipping costs killed it.
If this has been done before, or betterer, let me know..
- I cut the old bleed valve out of the shagged radiator and tidied up around the hex base
- The barrel of the valve that was inside the radiator was larger than the thread of the new bung, so I machined down the brass and cut the same thread as the bung on it.
- Screwed it in with some Loctite 567. I decided not to use the O ring as there wasn't enough lip under the hex and it rolled out when I tightened it.

Nicely done I would of use thread tape over just the sealant but looks good

This seems to be doing the trick so far. Maybe a small win for Aaron..
