Restoring clear 'rear' visor

Post by thorns »

Has anyone got any tips on how to restore the clear visor type attachment on the rear of the roof?
Mine is in pretty good condition, but has some scuffing/hazed parts. Is it possible to restore these to nice and clear?

Would something like brasso possibly work similar to how it can restore dull headlights?

Not had to redo one of these but yes Brasso is typically a great way to restore clear plastics including headlights and tail lights. Should work fine on one of the rear window gizmos too. If it's really bad and needs a hard hit before finishing with Brasso you might find Autosol chrome polish cuts it back faster? But try it on a bit that's not too noticeable first, just in case. Like the edge of the ends...

I typically use a paint compound and then polish as that is what I have and works really well. I do it on the clear plastic for gauge clusters and the plastic lights on the SW20.
