I think you are correct. I had to lossen carrier bearing to get onto last lower alternator bracket bolt. It was hit and miss to get free.

NA manual has a small alternator. It can be taken out the top. I have done this on multiple cars.
Na auto and most turbos have a big alternator which cannot.

Well, after alot of swearing and bleeding. I managed to remove alternator. I needed to remove bracket as I couldn't drop subframe, stupid seized bolts. But it's out and now I can send to auto sparky.

Hey guys, alternator came back all fixed and ready to go back in. I do have a question about the alternator.

I am to believe that it is supposed to be an 80amp alternator, due to being NA with power steering. Why would it be 90amp? The alternator is as stock as far as I know (been wrong on stock items before).

Because yours is Automatic transmission.
