Agreed Koni- all the way unless you can land some Yellow Billies.

That way when you decide to change to lowering springs, maybe as a test or a permanent change, then you have decent dampers that can handle the spring. TBH my TRD springs and Bilstein blacks make the rear of the car very bouncy as the dampers can't match the springs. And I have the soft rear springs rather than the hard ones.

Also dampers affect springs rates so even if you are running a soft GEN2 spring you can wind the dampers up and have a stiffer ride for some track or autocross use. It opens up more potential from the car and for $186 that's nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks guys, I went with the Koni. Aden was nice enough to give me a further small discount. A lot of guys seem to rate the koni's with either the stock spring or eibach, sounds like the softest settings are the most popular for best grip and comfort. Obviously I will see how I like the 92 springs first and go from there. Now I just need to install everything. I am not looking forward to the caliper rebuild. The suspension should be fun. I have done it before years ago but I can't remember- do I need spring compressors with the stock 91 springs?

I am keen to hear how it goes.

No need for spring compressors on any SW20 spring. But loosen the main nut while the car is on the ground. Makes it way easier. To get the springs back on its helpful to have a mate hold the springs down while you get the nut tightened down. I've done it by myself but it's a lot harder. Lowering springs are easy.

Thanks for that. I have found I can sit on the top hat and do up the bolt on other cars.

Unfortunately I was informed the Koni rears are up to 3 months delay, none in NZ. They are looking for price/availability for bilstein yellows but in either case might be a while.

Yes the problem with NZ is no one will hold stock for items they don't sell. Lucky to sell a single set in NZ from any supplier. USA seem to buy a lot of the Konis but they don't have to pay silly shipping like us.

Yep they have it good for car parts over there. The stupid part is there are plenty of Koni front shocks here...
