Which way should slotted rotors face

Post by m.rance »

Hi I'm changing the rear rotors on my sw20. And have noticed there is a left and right, can anyone tell me which way they should face

What brand are they? Do they have instructions on which way to fit them? Any markings on the rotor itself?

I ask because not all rotors have slots facing the same way. It's more to do with the ventilation vanes in the centre which might not face the same way as the slots.

Yeah no instructions or marking but definitely a left and right version of each. Further google research suggested that if the top of the slot pointed backwards it would be good braking and if the slot was pointing forward it would bite harder when braking but also cause more wearing.

My Znoelli DDS face backwards. They have markings on them to say what side they go on though.

Yeah it's not too bad condition it has been outside for the last 5 years so a hard buff wouldn't go astray. And yeah still the same NA engine.
