NEED HELP WITH CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT

Post by kyle mills-brown »

Hi all I have done a gen 4 3sgte swap in my mr2 using the stock s54 gearbox I’ve done the 3sgte flywheel, clutch and the 3sge pressure plate and release bearing but my clutch engages really low basically at the ground and sometimes when I push in the clutch all the way down it won’t let me go into gear and also sitting in first with the clutch all the way down it sometimes tries to stall.... I am wondering if anyone would know what I need to do and how to do it to help my engagement point higher on the clutch

Try re-bleeding it, not with a vacuum but with your foot and someone else helping

Sweet as I’ll give that as go and if that doesn’t work should I adjust it at the pedal?

It's rare you need to, I'd be looking at other issues like clutch is worn out or the pushrod is too short if the bleeding doesn't help

Sweet as yea clutch has only done like 1500kms and I did hear I might need the prime driven slave cylinder push rod

Bleed the clutch and the fluid was black and smelly.... but clutch is light asf no weight and there’s air still coming out when bleeding it even after fresh fluid had gone through the system so I believe I might need a master cylinder?

I dunno, if someones told you to get something and you haven't, get the thing they told you to get first and then see if it helps...
