Baffled sump

Post by Brendonaustin »

Ran the bearings in the engine at Hampton in my 2KCUP MR@ SW20.Research suggests it could have been sucking dry around the sweeper.Removal of sump shows not baffled apart from factory.Anyone on here have any mods or success with alleviating this issue ?Replacing engine as we speak and not keen to do that again in a hurry.Cheers

Seems like Hampton has done it again.

What are rules around the sump for this championship? Based on what I read you aren't allowed add baffles or an oil cooler.

+0.5L or even 750ml over fill line can help, but baffling is recommended for sure. What grade oil were you running?

Can also investigate gen 3 sump and pump possibly or entire gen 3 engine. Not sure about the rules either

I have been using a moroso oil pan (http://www.atsracing.net/Parts/Details/E-MOROILPAN) which is nicely baffled and fits straight on Gen2 - without any issues at Hampton downs and have done few runs

... but yeah I'm not sure either if the 2KC rules allow for an aftermarket sump
