SW20 Mud Flaps install?

I've recently picked up a set of OEM mud flaps that I'm slowly getting around to installing, and what seemed like a straightforward install has led me to a few questions even after some googling...

- this started because I wanted to know if I need to put a little silicone or something at the join between the flap and exterior body panel?

- trying to find the answer to the above question led me to read that there are possibly some clips and L-shaped brackets that I may need to install these? any info on what these clips/brackets are?

- Does anyone have any photos or diagrams for the mud flap install process? I've only found text answers so far and didn't see anything in the MR2 manual I have.

- Looks like I need to drill a couple holes in the rear? Feeling behind the lip of the rear bumper, I'm pretty sure I know where this should go

However I am not finding mudflaps in the diagram it should be in nor others it could be in. Not helpful.
You are right though, cars that left the factory without mudflaps are missing some of the brackets and fixing holes needed.
