They quoted me $300 more for an engine than my wife’s Filipino mechanic. Pretty sure it’s the same engine because shopping around, everyone was saying only two available, and that’s what was on trademe, and one ended up in my car thanks to Joes Garage in Glenfield.

FYI it’s three years later and this engine is still going as good as the day I got it. Also the $300 extra was for the engine, the labour was much more.
Some day “you get what you pay for”, but if there’s two engines on the market and one guy is charging $300 more to y it for you then $400 more to install it, what are you getting for your $700?
Spargs didn’t mention a rebuild or anything special like that.
