Try the local wreckers... you probably want to ask by the car model rather than the engine code, i.e. "1.8l Corolla" rather than the "1ZZ engine".
You can look up online for all the Toyota models that had 1zz in them and compile a list.
1.8 Corolla could be 2ZZ though. Sure they are a lot more rare but not to be confused.

There are slight differences but if you do have things like the dip stick you can change it over from the ZZW30 1ZZ to the ZZE*** engine.
Thanks GDII, I really appreciate your input. Do you mean I can take the dip stick tube off my old 1ZZ and fit that to the replacement 1ZZ?

My mechanical ability is limited to oil, filter, spark plug & brake pad changes... and lightbulbs... so I'm not sure what you mean by ZZE*** (google wasn't much help).

I hope I can find a later model 1ZZ that doesn't have the oil burning problem.

Thanks,

Sean
Sorry, I should have just said MR-S and Corolla. ZZE is a Corolla fitted with a ZZ engine. E is Toyotas Corolla chassis designations as W is the MR2. The asterisks mean the generation of car such as 120, 122 or 123. for the corolla that the ZZ was fitted to. Normally 2 or 3 numbers.

This works for most Toyota pre 2010

Thanks again GDII, I'm learning a lot.
