The car build factory plate (in the engine compartment I think, or frunk?) will have a transmission code (like C65 or similar) and a letter - A or B. B indicates LSD.

Found my Build Plate/sticker while giving my car a polish during lockdown on the LHS door opening near the lock striker. Trans/axle code is C65-01B therefore I have the 6 speed manual with Torsen limited slip diff. (01A is the open diff)

Interesting... What market was your MR-S originally intended for? My JDM car has the build plate in the engine bay.

I think this works for a trans axle...

engine off, in neutral.
jack it up and turn one of the drive wheels by hand.
both drive wheels spin the same way = LSD.
wheels spin opposite = open

This is true of SOME types of diff but not all. In case of MR-S this "test" doesn't work.
