No new Brake M/Cylinders for W30 even from Japan

Post by Rosscar »

I am astonished to find out from Toyota that W30 Brake Master cylinders are specific to the car and that new ones are not available from Japan and there are no repair kits for them nor can you get new seals. Can anyone suggest a replacement that will fit into the booster? Otherwise we may as well scrap our cars now! I have been onto Toyota NZ about this issue and am waiting to hear back as to whether they can source seals from Japan (theres no part numbers for seals) or any other help A second hand one also proved faulty and they are also like hens teeth! A european firm based in Berlin has new LHD ones in which the outlet pipes are on the other side so0 would need to reroute the piping, I am attempting to get one of these if it will fit the booster.

Did you check megazip.net?
There's bound to be stock somewhere (I hope)...

Worst case and for a few bucks a decent brake shop or similar should be able to disassemble and give you specs so you can get some seals custom made. I did this with the booster on my UZZ31 Soarer as no replacements are available.

The price of genuine brake and clutch master cylinders is heinous anyway.
Heres a genuine one less reservoir for $450:

Aftermarket replacements are much more palatable:https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toy ... inder,1836

Doesn't seem to be a seal kit listed for them.

Is the RockAuto one LHD or RHD? At least going on part numbers, the Japanese RHD number doesn't come up for the USA market. Not sure what the difference is though but obviously there has to be something.
