That looks like a lot of fun. The car looks great. I'm guessing with the VVTi working you will have more power. I hear 2ZZ-GEs go well when the high lift cams switch on.

Re: Progress on my aw11 rallycar
Dyno run was in palmy at a bussines thats since closed. should get another 20ish kw which will be great with my gearbox although looking at changing c/w and pinion from 4.1 to 3.9 as on tarmac tyres 8000rpm is only 170kph.

Thats the speed pulse from the 'Factory' dash if you still have it .mr2grpb wrote:Thanks will recheck the purple wire in the weekend.
Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

When you do get it coming on lift it's hard to wipe the smile off your face.
Blacktop 20v came nowhere even close

The older black top runs out of umff above 7500 Rpmflying_wedge wrote:When you do get it coming on lift it's hard to wipe the smile off your face.

Mine will run to 8500 but feels flat up that high
I shift @ 6800 with the 6 speed and that keeps it in the peak torque range.
This is with a silver top bottom end and a black top head standard black top headers 2.5 "
free flow exhaust and standard air bx with a G4 link and a tune .
might be time for some extra pressure .......

Re: Progress on my aw11 rallycar
And that's the dyno of 98kw atw? Sounds pretty good though for a blacktop - next step would be to look for some cams and more compression. I know of 2 blacktop builds at 110kw atw where this was the step after Link.*84vvt wrote:The older black top runs out of umff above 7500 Rpmflying_wedge wrote:When you do get it coming on lift it's hard to wipe the smile off your face.

I had my 2zz dyno at 130kw atw and have made a few more hp since then. Need to shift at 8600 to keep the power on the high cam, the high cam point you can see on the plot below is 6300rpm. Still learning this after coming from a lazy supercharged motor where shift points didn't really matter

Re: Progress on my aw11 rallycar
Wow if i can get 130 kw atw i"ll be really happy! i think mine is limited to 8200rpm so will probably only come up to 120kw??? I won"t have the problem of falling off cam though with my trd box as it only drops 800-1000rpm per shift.

Ring it out a bit more!*84vvt wrote: I shift @ 6800 with the 6 speed and that keeps it in the peak torque range.
Peak torque at the wheels at a given vehicle speed is always at the point of peak engine horsepower.
