Re: Ash's Adub
This is coming along really nicely Ash.
Going to be great when the 7a makes its way in and you get it running with a good tune!
What did you do with the accelerator pedal - is it from another model 'yota? Or did you just bend it or cut and weld? I need to do something like this with mine.

Ive had some good jobs come up so it might get finished early next year.
im getting a custom flywheel made and so other snazy rotating parts to so its going full hog.
nah no cutting or welding, simply put it in a bench vice and bent it to where i wanted.
takes a fair bit of grunt to bend, took me a while to get it where i wanted

Re: Ash's Adub
Hubs are back and rebuilt with high end Japanese brand wheel bearings.
Longer studs all round.
Hubs and wheels are now at road, race and rally getting spacers CNC'd to be hub centric (nice and speny)
TOM's wheels are some where in ocean on a ship.
Found a guy on oldschool that is gonna do reproduction graphics
Might have a genuine TOM's steering wheel on its way to
Carbon parts are coming along good. Just need to restock my laminating resin supply
Also picked up a newish Corolla as a daily so I'll need to get coil overs and SSR's on that too

Re: Ash's Adub
Not much progress
Work, girl friend, fallout4 and life in general, the cars gone on the back burner.
Coming into Christmas car budgets on hold till after.
For over this period though I have stashed away nearly 8L of epoxi resin so will have a lot of stuff to make and keep me busy until the new year and new parts roll in.
I've made full fibreglass moods of the rear side panels from doors back so far. Will be making a fibre glass bonnet and boot so cut down weight.
Start planing for left hand side vent and what ever the hell in doing for fuel filler
All that's needed to finish the grip side of things is:
Washers to space custom camber plates in rear
Wheel nuts to suit SSR's
Rubber for the shoes
Then it's just the motor and body work to takle

Re: Ash's Adub
Tires have been purchased
Achillies 123S 195/45/R15 Front
Toyo T1R 235/50/R15 rear
Might seem like an odd match and I would have liked T1R 205/45/R15 for the front but I got the Achilles for 125ech and T1R's for 150ech all brand new so I would be stupid not to.
So the car should be sitting back on the ground next week on its snazzy SSR's
I've got the next 11 days off work so I should manage to finish up all those little things I can't seem to find time for

Re: Ash's Adub
Howdy Ash,
Apologies if you have answered this before but i didn't really want to go through 20 pages
Whats the width and offset of your ssr's? What kind of weight saving are you expecting with the fiberglass front and back boot and bonnet? would you look at making more than one part? I also have a white early AW siting in the garage waiting for some love. Anyone have a spare left hand front guard?
Cheers,
Douglas

Fronts 15"x7.5" +20mm
Rear 15"x8.5" +20mm
However SSR MK1 and formula mesh mount surface is flat with the spokes.
So 20mm spacers are required to clear the bigger brakes. Making then zero offset.
8.5 with 0 offset will not fit in standard guards.
Bonnet and boot are carbon fibre. Not sure how much I've saved but it's more then 1/3.
More so in the drop front bonnet as that's had extra steel welded in, fibre glass and bog so probably be half the weight of my plug

Re: Ash's Adub
Whole rear end is apart.
All wiring from front of seat rails back has been cut open.
The engine bay fuse box has had all the 4A wiring removed.
Aside from the standard fuse box only the tail light wiring will be going threw the to the rear.
LINK G4+ extreme is currently getting wired. Will be in cab, have bought a [Expletive Deleted] expensive multi pin oil thing to put on the fire wall so the whole loom can undo at on point.
Am working threw all the sensors Atm as some will need to be changed to suit the link but also give outputs to the factory cluster.
I want the interior to all look stock and everything work
