Hey Mike! Nice to see a pic of your car and what needs to be done.

Is the handbrake working? If not then maybe the cables are siezed, very common problem in SW's - is there an aftermarket steering wheel? Chances are its the wrong boss kit, so you either need a new boss kit (momo/saas) or wire up a button for the horn in the dash somewhere. The air con probably isn't working as it's out of gas. Good luck with everything!

Nice SW! Welcome to the forum!

I think getting AC re-gassed is around $80 from memory???

HB cables easy and worn rear shocks could be a good excuse for an upgrade

Welcome aboard! Looks like you have some work cut out for you. Ask questions here and you will find most people are willing to help. We have all been there before and many of the problems you list are quite common.

With regards to those seats. Are they branded? What color any more pictures? Condition? Sorry for the questions :D

They don't look as bad as the pics but for a track beater or someone who isn't fussy with a daily. The driver's seat is in significantly better condition. The passenger just seems faded from the t-top, they would look better with a clean. I would trade them for any seat with rails to adjust and recline that isn't ripped.

Thanks. Which hopefully teach me something. That is half the reason I signed up. I have had a good read and noticed that, which should hopefully mean standing on the shoulders of giants.

I'll go stock or just a bit above. I have a big list and only so much cash, other parts of the strut assembly probably need to be done as well.

Thanks. Not at all there is no resistance in pulling it back at all which makes me think it might be between the handle and the cables, maybe something else entirely broken? The previous owner setup a button on the dash but it broke off, wouldn't mind putting a stock wheel back on but I don't know if that needs cert. Air con honestly needs to be played around with to figure out exactly what isn't going. I need to see if the heater works and fans work at all. There is definitely some current flowing to it though.

Got a lot done:
Handbrake cables were gotten from a pick a part for $20. Work quite well now that they've been replaced.

Went and got the rear strut inserts replaced along with a wheel alignment and had to pay for insurance. Was not a cheap day

I have ordered now a caliper rebuild kit from Mr T, ordered rebuild kit for the turbo, got some oil, coolant and brake fluid from repco.

In the next few days need to get a gasket set for the turbo and a battery.

Planning to finish the rest of the work by next Saturday so I can test drive before a roadtrip.

Looks great!

Not a fan of the bucket seats or steering wheel, but I'm a big fan of those mags. I currently have Skyline mags on mine and am looking for some nice white ones. :)
If you figure out how to stop the wing mirrors from wobbling, let me know! Mine is driving me crazy, haha!

I love your seats and wheel, not too bothered about your choice of wheel but would prefer alloy over white :D

Re the condition of the seats nothing a deep cleaning can't fix. If they're of cloth material then I think it should be alright. I'm planning on renting out that green rug-doctor lookalike machine from the warehouse one day and giving my seats a clean, maybe we could kill two birds with one stone?

I've been meaning to do the same, but it's just so damn expensive for a couple of seats.

I didn't pick them the previous owner did along with some other questionable things. I'm probably long term going to DIY reupholster the stock seats, the buckets weren't WOFable let alone safe. If you rent it I'll hit the redline every shift on the way, poor thing is caked in human slime
