Part 2 shows assembly. Your description Malcolm sounds far more complicated than what the video shows. I know you can't see them right now.

It shows the inner race inserted into the cage without the balls, then the cage inserted into the outer race. Then rotating the cage to insert each ball one by one.

This is the video you want to watch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfcFBz0rndE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Without it, I probably would have put my fist through the wall.

That's a good video, basically doing it the same way as I explained but upside down from my description

And assembling it on the ground is a good idea because if you drop any of the balls they won't go far and you'll be able to find them again!!

hmm confused right now, got the shifter in the car, modified a sw20 short shifter, more on that later :!: what i'm confuzzled about is the shifter cables are miles to short???

I'm using NA shifter base with NA shifter cables with SC E51 gearbox..

I understand that NA/SC shifter cables are slightly different and I've read some people have used NA cables on a SC gearboxes before?

maybe my cables are clipped in incorrectly? any help on this or ideas would be greaaaaaaaaaaaatly appreciated :oops:

What do the other ends look like? Have you tried swapping them over? Disconnect the gbox ends first.....

Ughh Ive thought about that the guy I got my "conversion" from was wreckimg a Fxgt corolla with a 4agze in it and few other rollas so they couldebe from anything. Me and dad are going to cut the shifter base and move the mounts back to where they want to sit then make an adaptor to reach the gearstick on the two cables just hope the Centre plastic will still fit or ill be putting holes in it lucky I got 2 just in case

Hmmm.. when I installed the sw20 e153 gearbox into my NA aw, I had to move the the mounts closer to the shifter rather than further away.
