It could just be GDII's 1992 G-LIMITED instead.... I think I have done more work on it this year than you.
Do I need to get out the wire cutters on your fibre cable? And swap it out for a heater?

That's exactly what I'm trying to prevent! Although Rodney would be proud!

Phil and C'jay kindly came around on Saturday and gave me some more hands in exchange for emptying my property of excess SW20 parts

More and more fiddly stuff done, less and less fiddly stuff needed before turn key is executed!

Work done (Phil will add more to this list, I am sure:)
Copper Nuts on Manifold-Turbo-DP setup
M-T-DP setup installed on car (missing some studs) with gasket
Gaskets added to some areas around the car
Coolant neck adapter and coolant neck installed
Drivers side axle in (passenger side already in)

And just an overall check up to ensure we know what is left and to plan for the future, as the car has been in a bit of a hiatus with Covid and Winter and all that. My old intake pipes can be used (when chopped/rolled) for post intercooler, might need to look at doing something else for before the turbo.

Excluding more minor things (or stuff I am missing), the overall things left are:
All intake pipes to turbo/manifold
Wiring (wiring is done but needs to be wrapped in place and installed)
Exhaust from DP
Knock sensor (I have misplaced it... )
Spark plugs/coils
Coolant + coolant pipes, transmission fluid, oil/filter
Throttle cable placement/shortening
Starter relay
A battery
Turn key...

A bit more progress on this one.

Wiring went in, knock sensor went on, throttle cable rubber mount went on, missing exhaust manifold studs went in, stripped the stud in the head on No1 cylinder... And started hacking away at some more things.

Still a few things to sort out, axle carrier bearing brackets to go on, exhaust to go on, axles to do up, fuel lines to make, turbo joiners and pipes to adapt.


New studs for the exhaust manifold to head. Part number 90116-10169.
New knock sensor, it seems this is the only part number for this GEN4 3SGTE engine and it does not cross over to any other engine. Part number 89615-12080.

Plug E6. This carriers power to the ECU and a few other critical wires. Excuse the previous wire hacking from 2014.

OBD2 port and one of the ECU pligs

Wiring harness placed in the bay ready to be finalized and have the plastic covering put back on and all tapped up.

Getting there slowly, a few parts to find, fluids to fill, fuel hoses to sort out. The OEM GEN2 3SGTE fuel hose will bolt up to the GEN4 fuel rail and fuel filter but it seems backwards is the best way with the bendy banjo at the rail end and straight one at the filter end. I think we will be better off making up.a new line but this will get it running at least.

As above... things and stuff was done to make car more like a running one... including some $$ on it this week. I think it likes the contents of my wallet more than moving, at this time...

Been a while since an update! Not a lot has been happening, to be honest I've lost a bit of motivation with the old girl, I'm sure it'll be back once it's running

Phil (GDII) came around today and helpfully finished the wiring, we got the car full of engine and gearbox oil, a few more things have been done up and it's very much nearly there in terms of running, what comes next to get it a WoF after that, who knows

Still to do so it's running reliably:
New fuel hose (current one leakys)
Starter Relay (Missing)
Ground Cables for Gearbox (Missing)
All coolant hoses/coolant
Check all bolts...

Probably a couple more things I've forgotten about, and of course anything we come across...

Not long now! Hopefully the engine is okay!

Am going to need to look a better intercooler setup as well. The OEM one probably won't cut the heat enough...

Found a starter relay and some ground wiring, also bought a replacement intercooler courtesy of Tom from the Hawke's Bay! (There is a fan and backing plate too)

Moving along, slowly. Got to reverse the fuel feed hose and get all this stuff installed. I've only virtual raced 5/5 days this week and will be 6/7 by the end of it...
