So i bought an mr2 sw20 turbo manual as they are fun and it was cheap ,i have replaced the blown turbo and it would only boost to 4k before i get fuel cut and the engine light comes on .Flash codes tell me that its the boost pressure signal , so how do i get around this. Do i need a new sensor or new wastegate actuator ? Help please ??? will post pics when i figure out how

I'd first check how much boost the engine is running before you do anything else. Then check the waste gate for correct operation.
Are there any modifications done to the engine?
More information on the engine would help.

Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

It's overboosting if you are getting code 34.
Check vacuum lines are correct and present. Check what boost pressure you are getting. Then check operation of waste gate actuator.

Re: Mr2 sw20 turbo 1990
Another thing that could cause overboost is cracked or split vacuum hoses. Leaking hoses that are connected to the wastegate actuator will cause an increase in boost pressure. A faulty wastegate would cause a fuel cut earlier than 4k rpms, typically a second or two after the turbo is spooled up. 4th or 5th gear at 100km/h is a good way to test this.
