Was a simple matter of rebleeding and regreasing slider pins etc. Passed easily once that was done.
Are you able to let me know the grease you used for this? It's a job I need to do myself, but don't want to gum anything up :)

Sure. It was some white lithium grease with some moly. Off the top of my head :D

Well Wof time came round again. Sadly failed again on rear brake balance (right is worse by 40%, same as last time). Probably well overdue for a rebuild. I did manage to improve it previously with a bleed and slider pin greasing. Will also check handbrake adjustment as it also failed on that too (holds well on hills so likely related to imbalance).

Annoying how it has failed again as it has not driven at all in probably 7 mo! Probably a lack of driving is doing more harm than good.

Also am going to get started on fixing the cracked lip on my Work Anhelos. Going to remove the tyre, split lip and get a new one made. The old one is non salvageable due to it being a 'rolled lip' which is incredibly thin. The cracked lip is apparently only cosmetic as it does not release air but have gone back to the oem 15's till fixed. Fun pictures of it later.

Sounds like you do need to do a full rebuild of the rear calipers. They've been playing up for a while? The rubber seals have probably gone and dirt and water has got in.

Update. Recheck went fine. Brake balance is within 10% now on the rear. I drove the car around using the brakes frequently, as well as doing a re bleed and completely resetting the handbrake by following a few guides on here. I never did adjust the handbrake before so there's a good chance that one was being tweaked more than another.

Needless to say i'll be getting these rebuilt shortly just to rule another thing out.

Calipers rebuilt! Woo! Pedal action feels softer but this might have been from misremembering. Stopping is the same so maybe not having to fight stuck pistons is the difference. Place that rebuilt said that one of them was a real pain.

Still waiting for a new lip to come for my Anhelos. 5 months now! :(
Besides that I believe I've found why my Idle would nearly die when turning on AC... I had the TVSV hooked up which I mistakenly thought was my AC idle up valve. Will find out next weekend if it's now sorted :D

Also installed a real Greddy Intercooler from Logan P to replace my generic one. Can't see the logo when in the car but I like knowing I have legit parts. Plus it came with a fan shroud and a much bigger fan than the one I was running which draws even more air through! How good!

Bit of an update.
IMG_20210301_182300.jpg
I managed (with Jabeo's help) to find someone in the Netherlands who was selling 2x Anhelos lips. So I bought em, got the anodisation stripped off and then polished to an inch of their life  I pulled apart the damaged wheel and fitted the new one, resealed and got the tyres re-mounted.

Following that I decided to get the Power FC I'd had for 4 years finally tuned. Went to TuneTechnic who were great. No issues on the dyno at all but found that at 18lb of boost even on the stock ECU i was hitting about 180KW at the wheels already - so not much more they could squeeze out of the PFC. Interesting how aggressive the stock GEN 3 ECU really is. I do have a period correct knock controller which apparently worked very well and is necessary for the PFC really as that has no real control itself. Dyno Sheet below for prosperity (shows high and low boost). The tuner suggested that if I reflowed the turbo there'd definitely be some more power to unlock, but for the moment was hitting the max amount of safe timing to be running.
IMG_20210901_093125.jpg
Also got injectors cleaned and tested - within 3% of eachother which is great for 25yo hardware.

Finally the part which is most exciting and in progress is the vapour blasting and restoration work i'm doing. I've taken a different direction with this car and am trying to make it a very clean near stock example. I had the fuel rail, intake system, and valve cover all vapour blasted and the results were amazing. Camera really doesn't do it much justice at all.

I'm going to remove the aftermarket water neck for the stock one and also get the 'tree' it sits on blasted as well when we're out of lockdown again. With the switch back to the factory hot pipe I'm using the ARC elbow again so the BPV can vent to the ARC box. Awesome thing with this box is the 'blow-off' noise is extremely loud, as if you were just venting it to atmosphere.

Snag in my build is that a large amount of bolts and brackets are at the zinc platers so won't be getting those back for a while yet!

Looking choice. Must be pleasing to get onto dyno and confirm tune. The stock ECU runs very rich so good that you can make use of that extra fuel.

Cheers Jim. Yeah good to know the engine is healthy too (comp test came in at 150 across all 4.)

Here's a closer look at the finished product (until I get fidgety again). Plenty to do till It's actually drivable again but exciting to see none the less.

Got bolts back from the zinc plater. Going to have to do many more now as they look amazing. Pictures really don't do it justice.

I've also ordered a bunch of OEM water hoses from Amayama which should be here later this month. Then the car will be back in action. It has really transformed over the course of this lockdown. It is very very hard not to just go all out and completely redo everything. But I want to keep this a driver and not a perpetual project car.

When/IF I recore the turbo I'll drop the engine again and get the gearbox vapour blasted too. Would be rude not to.

Cheers guys! It's coming together really well. Super happy with it.

On another note I also got my hands on a period OEM double din radio. My gauges that lived in this spot are going to be relocated to the glove box :D
