Yeah mate, it was interesting. When I placed the order, it stated that the items were going to be shipped out of NZ. See below the tracking details of my package. It was picked up from West Aucklandmknz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 2:59 pmThat's interesting, there didn't use to be onelasersooby wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 9:11 amOn the other hand very interestingly, Amayama seems to have a base in Auckland somewhere as the items were shipped from there. They get the parts in to Auckland then ship local.

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Good today, bright sunshine and warm, got the motivation to get off the backside and start putting things back together on the car.
Right hand side T-Top, sorted, left hand side hopefully this coming weekend. Cleaned up the chrome trim and the air deflectors before installing them, started to look good. Had to remove the fuse box on the right side in the footwell to get the drain sitting properly, was getting stuck on the fuse box. Was a quick job to remove that and get the hose sorted before re-installation of the fuse box.

Thanks guys, I have been working with the guy that does the certification and before purchasing anything, I have talked to him about it. I will be mightily annoyed if at the last minute he says that it cannot be done

That's good. Still keep us updated it will be good for others to know. I pulled out of buying a T3 kit because apparently it can't get certed here. So its helpful for people to know.

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Absolutely will do. I sometimes worry that I upload too many things and it might annoy someone
I managed to get the left hand side T-Top weather seals etc. done. It is coming along nicely. Next job is to change the weather strip on the glass tops.
I also spoke to the window tinting guys and asked if they would do the glass tinting (max 35% as I want to stay legal) and they do not want to do the tinting with the glass out of the car. They want the glass to be installed on the car and they will then do the job. Have been quoted $475 for the door glass, quarter glass and the rear screen

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Got the LH T-Top Glass rubber and new guides installed. Bit of elbow grease on getting the glass cleaned up as well. Removing the gunk off the old weatherstrip was a real pain, took a couple of hours to get it all cleaned up. Overall, happy with the work but not looking forward to the RH T-Top cleaning
Prior to starting on the T-Bar bits, I sorted out the the Roof Top Moulding Sub-Assembly, the usual clean and install:

Stripping down TRD SC 2GR
Francois from Elite Automotive, 29 Pirani Place started stripping my engine down for a full rebuild with forged pistons, rods, porting the heads and port matching the headers as well.
The Supercharger full rebuild will also be done, I will post the details of that later.
Engine on the engine stand, getting ready for the strip down: Supercharger is off: Engine loom off and ready for some work (merging the looms together) by Phil GDII, will have to replace the injector clips as three have become brittle and have snapped the clips off: Engine looking a bit bare: Inside of the intake ports: Removing Heads: Block partially stripped: Camshafts: Block without heads: Main bearing caps held in place with added bolts from the side of the block: Undoing connecting rods: Bearing looks very good: Pistons look very good as well, but these will be replaced with forged pistons and rods: Crankshaft in block: Main bearing cap, looks very good as well: Empty block: Crankshaft is in very good good condition as well: Main bearing caps back on block: Factory crankshaft bearing clearances stamped on the block: Bare block, bores are in very good condition. We will just do a very light hone when we do the rebuild: Pulleys etc., that we need to replace. I can get replacements to fit them. Toyota sells them as a complete package and not prepared to pay for the whole thing as they pulleys themselves are really good:

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Thanks mate. Yeah surprisingly, it is very clean, very happy with the whole package. The supercharger riser is cast alloy and has a few ridges etc., will be good to clean these up when we clean up the head and port match the headers.
Price for the full engine overhaul gasket set, the water pump, the VVTi updated line etc. via Toyota is bloody expensive compared to Amayama. Looks like they will be supplying me with these OEM spares again.

Toyota can have cheaper parts vs Amayama but it's only on selected parts.
