For the power steering set up, I just need to make up couple of templates to cut the holes out for the power steering pump and the fluid reservoir and I reckon it will be good to go.
Slow and steady should get this baby back on the road :D :D :D
ABS should be easy if you have all the bits. Just don't break the sensors (they're pricey).

It's all good.

For the heater pipes (it's a matter of when they'll crack, not if) you could cut the brackets off and use rubber insulated P brackets. Something that would hold it steady so it doesn't crack at the other joints. I guess you could do the operation at both ends and that would do the trick.

Thanks Michael.
I have the complete ABS system setup that is in my donor car and a number of pumps etc. that I managed to secure from UK. I did check the price of the sensors as at one stage I was thinking of changing them but hell, you are not kidding when you say that they are expensive. I'll see how I get on when I start this process.

Makes sense on the mods to the coolant pipes, will work on that to see what I can get. Better get it right before the install, just in case a failure occurs

Thanks again

Hi Phil, thanks for the heads up mate, really appreciate this as I had totally forgotten about this (actually did not know about this :D :D :D :D ) and yeah thanks again mate.

I'll be referring to your thread for the wiring and pump upgrade for the fuel tank, you have done an awesome job there as well mate. Hopefully we can catch up again soon.

To the Administrators, please let me know if you do not agree with anything that I have in the build thread or would like to see the set up a bit differently and we can chat as I do not want to get offside with you guys :D
They break far too often and so many cars either have no heater or bypassed it with hoses. I haven't got any info in my thread for this fix but my solution with limited tools was cutting it out and joining with a hose. Still fine 10 years on.

I don't believe I have any info on pump upgrades on mine but Jasonfriday13 had something at some point. It might not be there anymore. However if you do do that I can run you through it if you want to upgrade the wiring for a big pump. But you can run a 255lph pump on stock wiring anyway. O know very little about the 2GR but I assume you'll be buying/having bought a plug and play wiring harness for the engine to this car already so you won't need to worry.

Thanks for the correction Phil, I thought the write up on the pump upgrade was in your thread, my bad. I know I had read that somewhere and will check out on Jasonfriday13 thread. I will reference the thread when I get onto it.

Your fix on the pipes makes sense without removing the pipes, good work mate considering it is still holding :D

Really important stuff before I misplace the 2 tags, the VIN and the VI plates installed as we had removed them for painting. Used 3mm pop rivets, hole size in the body is around 3.3mm

Thanks Olaf, hoping go to catch up over the weekend. Likewise over the moon on the paint job, hopefully once it is on the road and has had the final micro-polish, it will look awesome. Thinking about getting the premium ceramic paint protection afterwards as well.

Good to see that the radiator has been put to good use straight away :D :D

Might see you guys at the park up, enjoy the meet

Got back to working on the car again today and managed to get a few things sorted.

Here is the slightly rusty Instrument Reinforcement Bar (lost the image of the bar before I started work on it)

Used a CRC product which converts the rust and coats the bar black

Removed clips off the Upper Radiator Support Bar before painting it with another CRC product (not sponsored by them, it is just that Supercheap Autos had a good deal going on them over Xmas/New Year)

Swapped my old Door Check Assembly with good used ones supplied by Car Parts Canterbury. Found them really good to deal with

Another CRC product used to lubricate the Check Assemblies and refresh the plastic and rubber components before installing them. I used this same product to refresh the Frunk Hood Weatherstrip (see earlier postings)

Managed to get into doing a bit of work. Most of the stuff was around tidying up the wiring in the front and also getting the cabin wiring sorted. Had to remove the instrument reinforcement bar off to get the wiring to sit in its proper place and it turned out really good.

Bit of wiring for the front bumper tidy up

Thanks Ben, been a long journey this project and the encouragement from a number of people from within and outside of the club has been one of the drivers to keep going. Despite the whinging from the missus about the amount of money that I have spent on this project, the support from her has been incredible otherwise we could have ended up in a divorce :D :D :D

Been a bit busy with other stuff and have managed to do only a few bits and pieces. Have got the wiring sorted a bit more and need to finish off a few more things get everything in place. Have been working on the Blower Assembly as well and it is just about finished, will load these pictures as well, especially the mod to install a pollen filter in the system as the original did not come with this option.

Passenger side fuse box with broken tabs, had to open this up and install using clips
