Bring the Subaru. I'm sure there are still spaces for the track day. Or even just to turn up and meet others.
This project is epic. It's going to be quite different compared to others.
How are you finding getting replacement trim parts? Speaking with others and looking around there are lots of trim parts you can no longer get.

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Hi Phil, thanks for the invite. I am thinking of coming over as I have a guard to drop off for Greg Hirst, not sure if I will be bringing the Subi over or not, will have to think about that one Trying to get rid of as much of the bits and pieces as the wife is driving me nuts to get rid of all these parts sitting around in the garage. I also managed to get a lot fo trim parts from UK. Bought a Rev 5 and got most of the interior stripped then shipped to NZ and a few other trim bits. Trolling through Yahoo Auctions Japan has been a blessing as well. I remembered this from a comment you had made in one of your posts or a comment on someone else's thread. Good place to buy things from and buyee.jp provide a bloody good service.
Thanks Jim, it will definitely be different and the approach I have taken is to basically just work to a budget and get things as the project develops. I want to do it properly hence the time and effort going into this build. Once I start putting it together than I'll be chasing most of you guys for help around knowledge etc on the MR2s.
Take care and stay safe guys, hopefully see you in the weekend

MODIFIED BELLHOUSING WITH SPEEDO GEAR DRIVE & SPEEDO RING FROM PAUL WOODS UK
Bit of an update on the modifications to the bellhousing that I had sent to Paul Woods at Woodsport UK. Had a incredibly helpful Paul who turned the finished bellhousing around quickly and I received the package today.
Guys, I just cannot say enough on the help that Paul provided, both around what he was going to do with the bellhousing and the S54 starter hub that he wanted me to send to him. On top of that, he has shared his knowledge on the speed gear drive to go on to the Quaife LSD that I am installing as well as the speed sensor that he modified and fitted to the bellhousing.
The EA61 box does not have a speedo sensor and the diff does not have a speedo gear, but Paul has found a solution to both these issues and has supplied the part to go on the diff and the speedo sensor installed in the port where there was nothing in the original set up.
Great work Paul, your help and excellent communications was really appreciated. When you send stuff to the other side of the world, you have this little bit of doubt as to how things will come out, but I should not have worried.
I recommend very highly that people contact Paul at Woodsport.org if they want any straight up and down advice on any V6 conversion or other MR2 queries. His cost for the job, the parts and the shipping was really good as well.

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
It's almost like the gearbox was designed to have a speed sensor installed. But it seems almost all cars use the wheel speed sensor these days. Even the Caldina back in 1997 used the front left ABS sensor as a speedo sensor instead of the gearbox.
Paul and his guys do amazing work for the V6 community. It's good to see there is someone out there who is genuinely doing the work properly instead of saying the can but falling short.

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
Hi Phil, yep it is amazing the the box has the speed sensor port etc. just doesn't have on as they all seem to be picking the speedo reading off one of the the ABS sensor.
Paul and Marc both do an incredible job and they are bloody awesome guys to deal with. They provide good help and support. I have dealt with Marc for at least a couple of years and the first time I contact Paul, he was just as accommodating and everything he said, made sense.
I just have get the body back from Danny once it has been fully painted then will start the big job of re-assembling it

Re: Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project
yep it is getting pretty exciting now. I will start the re-installing process hopefully over the Christmas break. The outer body paint goes on this coming week then as time permits, sanding it down and polishing etc before the final coat and the same then the baby will be home. Have to wrap all the loose bits in bubblewrap to bring it home and hopefully I don't scratch the damn thing

PAINTED INTERIOR, PRIMED OUTER PICTURES
The outside of the body has been rubbed down and the whole thing is going into the booth this weekend. The cradle that I made to mount the body on has been a godsend and has made life a whole lot easier to move it around. If anyone is interested in the cradle after I have got the car back on its wheels, let me know and we can have a chat

PLANNING BELLHOUSING MODS ON THE MATING FACES
So, before I start putting the gearbox together, I have to modify the bellhousing a little bit more so that it sits flush against the engine block. There is a piece just under the head that interferes with the bellhousing. I managed to get the donor bellhousing mounted (has slight modification on it already) to the spare engine (sorry John & Bex) and measured up the amount that I have to remove. Hopefully will get this milled out next week.
All new bearings and shift paddles had been ordered a few weeks ago and hopefully we will have the parts to start rebuilding this soon.

they look like pretty straight cuts, would an angle grinder and a cutting disk be the way to go I wonder?
