Supercharged 2GR SW20 Project

Bought this loom from Marc - Frankenstein Motorworks and this is made for the left hand drive SWs and is a bit short. Phil sorted this problem out by adding an extension which has worked a treat.

Had to run this wiring through the same opening as the boot cable and all the way through into the trunk. The hole where the cable goes is pretty small and we had to de-pin the connector block to get this through to the back.

After running the DBW through, we installed the ECU. The ECU is mounted in the OEM location and uses a kit that yep, you guessed it supplied by Marc from Frankenstein Motorworks (he makes really awesome products).
This is the same ECU that Phil used in his car when he was doing the wire merge for this project:

Bit more electrical setup for the stereo system as well as the cooling system for the w2a intercooler pump using a thermal switch.

Phil worked his magic and asked for the work to be completed for his next trip. The location chosen and dummied up for this by Phil, was removed and cleaned then sorted for the mounting of the items. The location makes it look like OEM and blends in very nicely in the frunk:

The wiring for the temperature sensor to activate the fans are being run through the left hand wiring loom that goes through the frunk to the front behind the headlamp

Phil removed the fan plugs off the OEM fans and fitted them onto the aftermarket fans that came with the alloy radiator:

Received this for our 6-speed EA60 setup:

We made a call to replace our 2005 Honda CRV Sport (NZ new) with something a little bit more fuel efficient but with a bit of zip without spending too much money on the car. The replacement car was eventually going to end up with my second daughter who will be getting the fuel efficient car in 2 years.
She picked the colour and we picked the type. We imported the car directly from Japan to cut out the middle men who were clipping the ticket all the way. The car specs are as follows:

Came with coilover shocks, car had to get the LVVA cert (sorted through Danny McKenna) and passed WOF and is now registered (just today)

The rear hubs off the donor car has been fully built with new bearings and other bits and pieces including powder coating etc. and is on the car now:

After Phil had finished sorting out the new upgraded wiring for the fuel tank pump, I got the cover cleaned up including painting and is now installed:

My Christmas present for the car arrived last Saturday but only the front sets of Yokohama Advan GT Premium Version Rims. The rears are in the country and I should get them early next week. Since Phil helped me choose the rims, I waited for him to come up to do some wiring work on the car and we opened the present together. I want to thank Phil again for the immense help he has been with advise, challenging my thinking also and support in what I want to do with this car build, thanks mate for everything that you have done for me and this project including the loan of 2 of his wheels to see how they would look on the car and we managed to get some reference points off them to come to defining a set for this project:

Hi James, thanks and yeah the little Aqua is pretty good. We've achieved 783kms average out of 2 full fills of fuel, very efficient. Agree that the Japanese have an aftermarket supply of goodies for just about any car. Has Blitz coilovers and man, she handles so well.

Phil is amazing and is an amazing source of knowledge and ideas. Thanks again for the compliments on the build quality, hopefully, it'll drive just as good. Phil is up again today and hopefully a few of the other wiring will get sorted.

The block work has been done and is getting vapour cleaned and we should get it back this week, then the assembly begins

I'll upload some more 8mages of the tires on the rims and test fitting on the car later today I hope.

Rear Yokohama Advan GT Premium Version rims arrived:

Test fitting of front (C3) and rear (C5) rims, just to see what it looks like without the tires. Happy as:

Tires arrived also at Tremaine Tire Services, they are Yokohama Advan Neova's - 225 x 40 fronts and 265 x 35 rears:

Ordered the Yokohama tires through Tremaine Tire Services, they were about $30 more expensive than Hyper Drive Auckland, but Tremaine Tires have given me an awesome service, the guys there are pretty good and in the scheme of things, decided to go with them instead of buying from out of town. Tires got fitted to the rims (only 1 rim received a very small weight when they balanced the rims):
