Re: 96 revision 4 - perfection
Yes ,easy job.You can get the non motorised bulbs and motorised .check to see how many plugs are at each side , if there are two then it's set up for the motorised lights(the bulbs move when you turn the steering wheel).
All involved is cutting out the the grill. I used a Bosch multi tool.
You should be able to see the 4 retaining screw holes . I used stainless. I can't remember the thread size .
When you buy the foggies check how many plugs they come with ,as a lot on eBay are non motorised.
I hope this helps and the car looks great ! Enjoy.
p.S There is a relay in the frunk on the right hand side.regarding the turning bulbs, but you will need the switch below the steering wheel on right.

Re: 96 revision 4 - perfection
The turning ones have 2 plugs in the bumper while the non turning has 1. The dashboard switch has 3 positions, Up for turning, middle for off and down for just on.Kipp wrote:or is it just personal preferenceKipp wrote:How do you know which ones and how do you know the difference?GDII wrote:If it's pre wired then you'll need to check what type of fog lights to get. Some turn and others don't. That will also dictate the in cabin switch you'll need.
You'll need the bumper brackets and pin locator sleeves too. You have looked at what needs done so I don't need to cover it.
You don't need to get turning lights if your car has both plugs but it's just a nice to have if you want them.
Turning foglight switch and bumper brackets.
Remove the large panel under the steering wheel to see what wiring and plug you might have to ensure you can do this swap easily.
The panel in the bottom right number 55432D
EDIT: Also note that the wiring and operation of the JDM fog lights is different to the USDM system. The wiring diagrams you will most likely find are the USDM ones. I'm still to find the JDM diagram and I've been looking for years.
Some have yellow bulb covers with a clear lens, some have yellow lenses and others have clear bulbs and lenses. Take your pick.
And you'll need the ECU for the fog lights to plug into the steering position sensor.

Re: 96 revision 4 - perfection
Finally decided to give it a look to see if the car is set up for motorised or non motorised.
Non motorised it is!
This will probably be the first thing I do to the car. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to working on cars but I pick it up easily especially with the help of forums and the rest of the Internet so I have a lot more to learn.
The most I've done to a car is an oil/oil filter change and wire up sub/amp/speakers so it's all fun and games for now
