Hi all! so after the awesome feedback, i got round to making a second episode where i start doing a bit of an engine tear down, pulling a lot of stuff off the engine. This was filmed over the last few days, so apologies if its a bit all over the place. Give it a watch if you want, and let me know what you think of this one :) hopefully it helps some people!

Just uploaded episode 3 where i pull the timing cover and find a bunch of oil leaks, forgive me if there is a bit of mis information in the video, its actually harder than you think to try create constructive communication with an inanimate object such as a camera  let me know what you think!

Have uploaded an episode 4 and an episode 5 for anyone who is wanting to check it out, i do a 3sgte head removal, followed by some ARP headstuds and a new oem headgasket and then reinstall it all back together. In the next video i went and reassembled the components on the block and installed all new gaskets and timing components and got the timing belt put on the engine. All going good so far, i hope to have then engine in on the weekend of the 9th :D

Hey all, been a bit slack on making more videos, but i had some footage i took before i got my car running so i figured id put it all together to make another video. Bit all over the place but i had a few people asking about when the next one was coming out  let me know what you think! like and sub for more hahah

In this one i compare my Billet ATS CT21 with the oem CT26 and then go about assembling the components ready to put on the engine. Im a bit overdue on a proper written update on this thread. so much has happened since my last written update hahaha

Hi mate videos are really good.

Now in your vid you said you might want a gen4 swap the car? Before you do it, see how well the gen2 engine goes with the new turbo and more boost. Those turbos are good for 300rwhp+ however your stock fuel system will run out at ~275rwhp. A handful of us back in the day ran high 12 second 1/4 miles and 109-110mph trap speeds down the 1/4 with essentially what you have got now. At that power level, they are still a very fast street car.

The law of diminishing returns would hit hard if you wanted to swap to the gen4 engine. Thousands more invested for a small gain. Depending on how hard you wanted to push the gen4, you might pick up 30hp? Just something to think about.

You could always just upgrade the fuel system, and COP ignition system on yours. Then it's basicly a gen4 right?
After market ECU and it sounds like it would even be better?
Cheaper and easier also. And seems a shame to see all the work you've done to that engine become obsolete?
