My non-turbo pan had the exact same baffles as the turbo one. I was under the impression they didn't come with them...

GEN2 3S anything is just terrible for baffles. Don't go to Hampton Downs or you will damage the engine. Only based on others experiences with the track.

Finally bought an engine lid strut. Works fine with the racerX intake, just needed slightly higher positioning to clear the brackets.

3sgte turbo manifold definitely fits on a stock gen 2, 3sge. The turbo is off being rebuilt but I am hoping it all fits in there. I was worried about the oil filter placement but when eyeballing it, it seems the two engines have them in the same place.

Glad all this is being replaced, the last mechanic almost completely choked the coolant flow by sealing the bypass pipes with a pile of sealant instead of ordering the correct gasket. They used the seal for the thermostat but decided to put sealer on that too :|

And now for MR2 christmas time, got the free ct-26 back from alltech turbo and diesel. They did such a good job, it looks like a new turbo. Admittedly most of it was toast. They machined out the compressor housing for a larger billet wheel and rebuilt/replaced everything.

Luckily that's the heater return pipe so not as bad as the coolant recirculation port that has an O ring.
I always buy the full pump set that has all the gaskets and o rings included. Gets around this problem.
Does not look great! But the rest of your parts haul does. Hopefully that turbo is way better than a stock CT26. Exciting to follow this and see it progress.

Turbo should spool faster than stock with the billet wheel and it is a larger wheel too so will hopefully flow a bit more at the low and mid range. I doubt the peak HP will change too much but I am not too focused on that. Just want responsive useable power.

I have new water pump, idlers, every seal that is still in production even new bolts as some had corrosion. The engine shop will clean up the oil pump as I couldn't get the gasket off, it was baked on. Tried a sharp knife, every type of liquid to soak it off.

I put the dowel pins into the flywheel. No idea why they don't come pre-installed. I had to tap them in with a hammer to get them started. Then I could use a clamp to drive them in most of the way. Finally I had to hit them with a hammer to get them to the depth I wanted. I measured my stock 3sge/5sfe flywheel and got low 10mm to mid 11mm of the 3 pins protruding. I put mine to about 11.2mm. Pins are part 90250-08054 for the 3sgte, the non-turbo one is probably the same.

Best I can tell the flywheels are fairly similar. The outer diameter appears the same and I am guessing the teeth are the same but I didn't compare very closely. The dowel pins are the same spacing around the outside of the flywheel but they are slightly closer in on the N/A one and 2-3 futher out on the turbo one. Other than that, the swept face is a 40mm band on the non-turbo one and 45mm on the turbo one. Why they didn't make them the same part I have no idea, the turbo flywheel would have worked fine with a smaller clutch disc.

This was so easy compared to the turbo cars. Getting the stock intercooler out of those is not fun I remember https://mr2.org.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9649

MR2 heaven kit worked perfectly and all the hardware was metric :D

It is interesting the 3SGE flywheel doesn't have the casting 'cuts' between the pressure plate mounting points.
Normally manufactures change stuff because when you mass produce things a small amount of metal in a casting adds up to a lot of money. But possible the flywheel design for the engine and the way it drives is also part of it.

New intercooler setup looks great! I had to cut the 9" fan shroud a little to it it for the TCS supplied stuff. Maybe the intercooler could have been moved a little but owell. It is tight in there.

Thanks. I was freaking out as I couldn't find the fan wire and plug, then I looked through my photos and remembered it is part of the engine loom, not the body loom

Next step: I really need my engine back from the rebuilders. Then transmission can go off to get LSD installed, new bearings, seals and 5th gear.

Yeah powered and controlled by the engine harness. Luckily the 3SGE has this already. The 5SFE cars do not so you need to add in additional power wires and normally the fan will run when the key is switched to the ON position which I don't like. I'm all for the OEM system.

Hope your rebuilt/upgraded turbo doesn’t boost creep for you. Common problem with upgraded CT26s. Assuming you are going to fit downpipe and exhaust as well?

I have a berk 3" downpipe and HKS silent hi power which I will probably change to fujitsubo later on.
