It has begun.... But as per the subject, it will take some time as I am still trying to pay off the credit card from the head gaskets and ARP head studs.

But hey, I'm starting from the beginning on this one. And one day it will be complete! :lol:

I've also torn one of my spare engines down. One day when I can afford, it will go to the shop for testing, rings and bearings etc.

With a little bit lighter of a chassis are you trying to one-up Ross? :P Exciting build, you'll need to go on a 2 min noodle diet to speed it up :P

Haha, not really.... I will probably have more traction issues than him. Especially with my non LSD box. And I'm not sure I will run 16psi (Well until I feel the need for more!) But he did help motivate me to at least get started on this project. (Thanks Ross!)
Not sure noodles will cut it. Might have to ditch the wife and kid!! :lol: :lol:

So much excitement with these V6 builds. Where did you get the ARPs and headgaskets from?

A guy by the name of Jeremy "nasty addiction garage" on facebook for the HG's. ARP studs are actually "MAIN STUDS MITSUBISHI 3000GT VR-4 6G72 TT 207-5801" a few just need to be shaved a fraction so they clear the gears on the cams. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142018029870?ul_noapp=true Make sure they are Manufacturer Part Number: (207-5801)

Have you decided on what turbo you will be running? I'm in the process of speccing a centrifugal supercharger for my build. Mainly to keep the same exhaust note I have at the moment

Not as yet. I will take some recommendations on this. Probably on the smaller side. Slow process. I have to start with the bottom end and that will take awhile to pay for probably! :lol:

Centrifugal supercharger, where you combine the downsides of turbocharger and supercharger and have none of the benefits.

Less heat transfer to the air and thus possibly no need for an intercooler. Can also have the white of a supercharger with the torque shove of a turbo.

Supercharger whine is a good whine to listen to 8)

Torque shove of a turbo? You know they are linear in their power delivery right? You don’t get a wall of torque from 3000rpm like a turbocharged engine. It’s an n/a engine with some more top end.

They're boost builds in a non linear fashion. I'll be running a boost controller with said centrifugal so that I'll be getting similar boost curves to a turbo install. Peak and hold rather than peak at redline.

Their rotational speed increases linearly with engine speed compared to a turbo where it relies on a turbine instead. Only having a turbine on one side indicates the rise won't be as steep but the airflow to engine speed is still non-linear.
