Okay cool. I was hoping so. I'm a lot happier to run that fan all the time, or on a switch. Good to know, thanks.

Still a mystery why the radiator fans ran when I turned off the ignition and the engine remained running?? Engine wasn't even up to temp either.... hmmm....

That's another issue. I edited my last post with some more info on the circuit but doesn't answer much more.

Thanks, I might look into this further when I get a chance. Just cause it's so weird. (Although I'm happy it's sorted and I only loose my engine bay fan, although should check my reverse lights...?)
I was waiting for the grounds comment. Actually first thing I thought was grounds. But I've run new big cables from gbox and starter, block and battery to the body. Checked the head and intake ones. Although smaller they seem okay. And I went around with jumper leads and put those on various parts to the body to see if it helped. But didn't. I might redo the head and intake grounds at some point anyway. But all seems okay there.

Maybe a bad controller. Borrow another to see if that's it. I have no idea how the electronic inside it work.

So, this morning my power steering wasn't working. Another problem.... *sigh....
Let's see if I can remember the list of issues and how it all started....
Car wouldn't start, bad grounds... fix that, took it for a drive. Clutch hard line broke.... fixed that. Took it for a drive. Alternator died.... fixed that. Started the car, engine wouldn't turn off.... fixed that. Took it for a drive. Power steering not working. Drove home, Power steering works now. But this happened.....

I did however know this was only a matter of time. The engine is over 260,000ks, and I give it a hard time.
I did have a lot of fun walking away from this Skyline through the Hunua twisties on my way home though also :D :D
So I do already have a plan for a swap. And I have most of the parts. This will be in keeping with the BLACKRAT, RatMR2, theme. And should be a lot of fun!

But will have to wait until #1 baby is finished and on the road!! Of course :D

It's all because of the 710 cap - TRD stands for Toyota Rod Destroyer....

Finishing touch....
20191129_153357.jpg
Fitting I thought, no?

No other progress as yet. Aside from I have bought 3 engines to go with the other 2 I have. Plenty of spares! And finalised a few design details with the new engine mods.
Looking forward to tearing this down and getting into it. But have to keep telling myself to finish what I started first..... Turbo V6 AW that is!

I could, it would be cheaper and easier. But it would still be a 2ltr and it wouldn't be as much fun  8)

So I found a new heart for the BLACKRAT!

I was going to go 3VZ (as I'm sure most of you guessed) But the plan for this one was NA with RB26 ITBs. Maybe cams. And some obnoxious trumpets busting out the engine lid. In keeping with the theme, of course.

But this swap should be quicker, cheaper, easier and no cert. (Hopefully)

Perhaps soon I will have X2 running MR2s on the road again!!

Needs cert, but should be easy since the brakes are the same
