So this is after about 1hr of spirited driving through the Hunua Ranges today...

So just the thermostat not being OE is the only thing that bothers you on this build?
Yeah true, but 30,000ks. That's like 6+ years for this car!
I'm not too sure why it would do this.Mr-Paulio wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:48 pmAnyone had issues with silicone hoses to the wastegate?

Disclaimer: It was like this when I got the engine...
Or any other strange boost creep issues they resolved?
I didn't mind before when it was hitting 14psi without any boost control.
But just today its started hitting 16psi and boost cut. Which is super annoying! So time to sort it.
Interestingly the hose looks fine. No splits or damage. And on my drive today it was 16psi and boost cuts all the way there. Then 12psi and fine all the way home. Until just before home it started boosting more again. My guess is the silicone hose stretches to much and perhaps leaks at the ends?
So I'm probably going to replace this with rubber anyway to be safe.
Just thought I'd ask if anyone has had similar issues?
My old GT4 also would change between 10psi and 14psi depending on its mood. We never got to the bottom of that. I just put a controller in to keep it at 14
Cheers mate, but not sure a T is going to help me in this instance. As it makes too much boost.GlanzaAtHeart wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 8:10 pmI'm not too sure why it would do this.
But, I do have a spare boost T that I am no longer using from my old gen 2 3SGTE. You can have that for free if you want and it might solve the problem? Kept my gen 2 at 14psi constant
Ah bugger, thought it might, not too good with vacuum leaks. But if you ever wanna run more boost, it's yours.Mr-Paulio wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 9:41 pmCheers mate, but not sure a T is going to help me in this instance. Anyway, I let the car cool down, found a rubber hose in my trove of spares. And used hose clamps instead of zipties! Quick spin around the block pretty solid 11-12psi everytime. Of course it had been an intermittent problem. But fingers crossed that's sorted! If not, I guess I have to lay off 100% throttle and high revs on next Sunday's club run
Haha. Might actually to be honest. If I get it back this week, I think I'll be feeling pretty sick on work on that day But I'm just in the process of getting new earths made up, doubt it'll be ready.
