Oh? How much would you be after for them?
Not in a position to buy atm (for obvious reasons haha) but certainly would be interested later down the track!

They're just sitting around. Just tell me when. I'll be back next around march-april. I'll pass them on for whatever I paid for them from zebra which I think was 120$ they're off an '88.

With the car back home I started reassembling the interior and replacing old/ rusty bolts. Also managed to impulsively collect a new set of wheels!
15x6.5 Dunlop Formula CP-R's
overall condition is pretty good, with one very minor scuff, a failed valve seal, and some paint fade.

The tyres that came included are in decent enough condition, and the valve holds enough air to power it through a wof, but these will be addressed with something grippier later down the line.

In terms of necessary parts, im still short that windscreen, and the headlight brackets are still getting sandblasted. Not too long now!

QUICK UPDATE:

So today ticks off a massive job on the list.
Windscreen!

Disappointingly when the mobile guys came around last week, they decided that it would be too big a job to fit a screen in with the alotted time. So I had to reschedule it to be done at their workshop.
Thankfully, the workshop in question is only about 5 minutes from where I live, and also (conveniently) 100m up the road from my office.
So with a couple mates acting as a lead and tail car, we karted the AW off to my office workshop, where it sat overnight.

In terms of other work, the headlight brackets should be done this week, and HOPEFULLY i can source a motor gear for the drivers window
all remaining trim was reassembled, excluding the aforementioned bits.

There's also a list of parts not necessary for a WoF that is currently being collated by a breaker in Hawera.

In all seriousness, if i can get the brackets by weeks end, i could realistically have a wof inspection ready car!
She could be on the road by next month!
very very exciting!

Lip installed with screws, cableties and a lot of faffing about!

HEADLIGHTS ARE IN!

annoyingly i stripped one of the bolts off on the LH bracket, so it doesnt quite sit flush with the bodywork as it does on the other side, but aside from that, everything else works/ fits in well!

Headlights will also need adjustment. Car is now more or less complete! :)

Well, unsurprising the nugget didn't get its WoF.
However, all things considered, I think it did pretty well!
also note the "tyres on backwards" we all had a little chuckle at that!!

FAILURE LIST:
- Both rear toe arm inner bushes worn
- R/R toe arm bent
- Brake performance to improve
- Rear tyres on backwards
- Front brake shudder
- Front wipers streaking
- Plate lamps n/w
- Passenger seatbelt buckle cover damaged
- R/F shock performance weak
- R/H steering rack boot torn
- L/H inner rack end excessive play

Most of the bits are a simple fix, I will need to source a replacement shock which may be difficult?
Decided to just update the entire brake system, so will be ordering new discs, pads and probably lines
I think the only annoying bits to install will be the bushes.

Still think having the car roadworthy by march is still realistic, but it really just depends on parts!

Nearly there Steph! 8)

If you replace a shock be sure to do both sides.
Znoelli 500 series brake pads from NST work well, road or track.
As does TRD brake fluid which is basically Motul RBF600 at a much cheaper price.
New brake lines are a good idea, eg Hel.

Brake shudder on an AW often due to warped rotors. Be sure to torque wheel nuts to 104 NM as uneven or excessive torque can warp the rotors.

slowly going through the to-do list on the nugget.

So far I have crossed off the following:

- Brake performance to improve

- Rear tyres on backwards
- Front brake shudder
- Front wipers streaking
- Plate lamps n/w
- R/H steering rack boot torn

Now with the leftover bits:
TOE ARMS x2: After accidently purchasing a set of used MK1a arms, I'll be placing an order through Twosrus - These parts do have a rose joint which there were concerns about legalities, however after talking with the mechanics, they have come to an agreement of passing the car with them installed, with a note to get them looked at when I get the car certified later in the year.

PASSENGER SEATBELT BUCKLE: Being sent up from Hawera along with a few other parts. Should arrive in the next week at the latest

R/F SHOCK PERFORMANCE WEAK: Being sent up from Hawera also. replacement shocks are 80,000ks old (from a mk1b) so they should be fine

L/H INNER RACK END: Repmacement has arrived, just don't have the tool to remove the part. this should be addressed this weekend

The only thing i can't seem to do is adjust the handbrake. so i'll probably just leave this to the wof guys when i send the car in again.

I ended up using Techstop brakepads, and discs (sourced from Exedy) and some motul dot 4.
Wrapped the dunlop wheels in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's

Took a little longer but at least she's nearing completion!
with both the box of goodies + the twosrus order, i should have more or less all the parts to complete the build also!

Once she's on the road I will be hunting for some rubber door trim pieces (one side was missing) and getting some decals printed and slapped on!

Unless your garage knows how to adjust the hand brake correctly on a Mr2 do it yourself
it has been discussed here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7812&p=72989&hilit= ... ake#p72989

well annoyingly with all the repairs done the car still failed.
Turns out it wasn't the inner rack end, but the steering rack itself thats damaged.
Went to hand over the unit to a rebuilder to be told its too badly damaged and is irrepearable. awesome.

Does anyone know if there are any reproduction options for this? or if i'll just have to buy a used one and hope its not damaged either?

The steering rack itself damaged? That's unusual, I can only imagine a side impact, but even then. Have you pulled it apart yourself yet? It's normally just the plastic guides on the ends of the rack.
